Never have I had such mixed feelings about entering a new year.
I’m glad to be starting a new year, but I want so much from it and I’m a little scared none of it will happen, and come this time next year I’ll be in exactly the same place. Stuck. At home. Poor. With no freedom.

Every new years eve I tell myself “next year will be different; next year you’ll have plans” and never do.
My plan for the rest of the day. Colour my hair. Shower. Exfoliate. Moisturise. Fake Tan. Blow-dry hair. Redo nail varnish. Have chinese. Watch telly.

I’ve been quite optimistic over Christmas. Upbeat and all that jazz. But today I was bought back down to earth with a tax man fuelled bump.
Firstly, why send tax calculations out over Christmas. Says so much about our government really.
